My mom found a dead calf in a pen next door. No food or water in the pen. She had gone to feed and water the dog over there. The neighbors seem to forget pretty often and the dog barks when he is out of water. She was very upset. Its a beautiful black bull and looked like it dehyrdrated. She was all set for telling them off but good.

Guy got home and said it was only a week old. The mom wouldn't let it nurse. He had brought it home and "doctored" it last night and this morning. Mom is still upset though cause they didn't tell her. She and I both have experience with bottle feeding critters. And with nursing ones that everyone even vets have given up on. I have a dog today simply because I didn't give up when everyone else including the vet said it was a lost cause. Animals that young need to be fed often. And the neihhbor was gone all day. Too late now   She did tell him to let her know if it happens again. I think since he saw how upset she was he will let her bottle feed any others.
