That trailer the kid is in sucks. It's almost the worst I have ever seen. The floor is sagging badly in some places. The carpet is really nasty in spots. I don't think the thing has been cleaned since it was put in there lord knows when. The cabinets under the kitchen sink are nailed closed for some reason. Many windows have holes and cracks. I think they put in some new paneling and just nailed boards around the inside to hold it up..however some of the boards are coming off. The walls hadn't been cleaned in years from all appearances. And the bathroom was really really nasty. We had to remove old caulk and put new on because it was so nasty and most of the old was peeling off.
I just do not understand how they can get away with renting places like that. Especially when you are required to pay a deposit which they CLAIM is to be used to fix and/or clean the place if you do any damage to it. From the way things look they are just running a scam. Taking folks money for nothing at all. And they require cash of course lol. It's possible the managers are just keeping some of it and the actual owners don't know...but that seems unlikely.
The owners of the places must not consider just how bad/low down dirty owning and renting out such places makes them look. And they haven't so far even done the things I myself heard them tell the boy they would get done by friday. And it is now sunday. So that makes them liars for certian.
That just makes me mad. Cheap is one thing...but if they would just make the places a bit more energy efficient they could fix them up and still make money. As it is the tenants have no incentive whatsoever to care the least little bit about the places or the energy used.
